Travellers Autobarn - The Best Campers for Backpackers

Backpackers rent cheap new campers at TAB. The growing Australian-based company is now also represented in New Zealand and the USA.

Travellers Autobarn (TAB) used to suffer from a rather moderate reputation. Under new management, TAB has developed very well in recent years. The company has grown rapidly and now not only serves the domestic market in Australia, but is also represented in New Zealand and America. New vehicles were purchased and the quality of the fleet increased enormously.

With all the growth in quality due to the rejuvenated vehicle fleet and good management, the focus of Travelers Autobarn deliberately remains on the backpacker market. The service is simple and even the absolute basic equipment, called "Living Equipment", is not included in the rental price at TAB. However, for cost transparency, you will always find the living equipment in our offers, as it applies to every booking. Instead of the usual bed linen, only sleeping bags are available here.
The price-performance ratio is very good. Perhaps you get more extras when booking with other companies, however although with TAB you do without frills, the condition of the campers compared to the price is really more than fair.
Travelers Autobarn also offers an advantage through depots in Perth and Darwin, which the company offers, unlike many other providers, in addition to the usual depots on the east coast - Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
In summary, TAB can be described as a solid company with good and fairly new vehicles, which, however, appeals to backpackers who are looking for reliable but affordable vehicles with little equipment and simple service.
As started in New Zealand, new campers are gradually being introduced into the fleet in Australia and the interior fittings are being gradually improved. In the years 2016-2020, the interior fittings of the three most popular TAB campers (Chubby, Kuga and Hi5) were renewed and also new campers were purchased.
