Alcove Motorhome - The Premier Class of Motorhomes

Alcove motorhomes are particularly popular with small groups and families. But couples who want to travel in luxury often choose this option. However, these benefits come at a price.

Advantages of Alcove Motorhomes

Alcove motorhomes are fully equipped when it comes to the kitchen and bathroom. Depending on the expansion, they have space for four to six people. Due to the fixed bed in the alcove, they are a good choice especially for families, since the little ones can sleep upstairs while the parents can enjoy some space downstairs. Families should, however, pay attention to the seat distribution when driving. In some alcove motorhomes, the children seats are at the back of the vehicle and are therefore out of reach when driving. Sometimes that's beneficial and at times a disadvantage, unique to your situation.

Adult groups enjoy renting alcove motorhomes too. Privacy can be limited, but renting one alcove is cheaper than two smaller campers for a group of four people. Only having to rent one vehicle, sharing the costs and cooking/cleaning responsibilities is a big plus for a small group wanting the freedom of camping but the luxury of nice amenities.

Disadvantages of Alcove Motorhomes

Price is the biggest disadvantage with an alcove motorhome. The big beautiful new vehicles with the newest setups and comfy couches tend to be very pricey. There are older models that are a bit more reasonable, but at times they can be a bit shabby or still expensive in comparison to what they offer.

Alcove motorhomes are big vehicles, and are not the easiest to drive. Often times you see big new motorhomes with dings and scratches all over because people underestimate the size and driving difficulties. Vehicle size is important to consider because cosmetic damage caused by driver error is sometimes not covered by insurance. Not only on the open road, but city driving gets much more challenging the larger the vehicle you have.
