The Beta 2S self-contained Camper has been part of the Spaceships New Zealand fleet since 2022. This vehicle is a direct response to the growing desires of travelers in New Zealand. A compact sleepervan that comes with a self-contained certification, allowing you to stay overnight anywhere. The sleepervan handles very smoothly, much like a regular car, but its interior is far from ordinary. The spacious double bed (1.92m x 1.40m) can be set up and taken down with ease. Behind the front seats, you'll find a Porta Potti and a small sink with a 25-liter fresh water and wastewater tank each. In the rear, there's storage for luggage and a 15L refrigerator. The fridge operates on battery power, which charges while driving and through the rooftop-installed solar panel.
With these features and the new 2022 interior fit-out, this compact sleepervan is perfectly equipped for Freedom Camping (until the regulation update in December 2024). While larger vans or motorhomes have traditionally been the go-to for free camping in New Zealand, the Beta 2S self-contained Campervan offers the ideal solution in a slightly smaller package. However, its size can also be further adjusted; the optional rear tent allows for the bed and interior space to be expanded.
